it's kind of classical, but we still use it cause it's short and brief...especially in written Chinese...

When you don't understand why other people say something, you can ask "何出此言？"

ah..何出此言

for example:

A: 我真得不适合做医生。(I really think i am not suitable to be a doctor.)

B:何出此言？我觉得你是个很好的医生(why do u say that? I think u r a good doctor.)

actually i think we didnt use it frequently?..coz its more like 古文.

I think this is a classical Chinese saying but I'm not sure... What exactly does this mean?

Does it mean something like "Why do these words come out" ?  When and how could I use this phrase?
