The second opinion

 Is studying art, music or drama  a waste of time ?

In the 21th century, and more people think that  the study of art, music or drama is a waste of time at school. These academic subjects do not reveal  a teenager's intellect. Unfortunately, I do not agree with this opinion and strongly believe that an  education  in the Arts should be included in a curicculum for several reasons.
 The first and most important reason, is that it is the best way to learn about different cultures.  By studying Arts, pupils need not memorise facts like  in history or literature. They can concentrate on basic things such as composers, paintings or plays. By giving examples teenagers can begin to create. For example,  when pupils see a performance of Hamlet, then they create an interpretation themselves  about how they understood it.

Secondly, students can express their feelings through art. Sometimes pupils can not tell what mood they are in, whereas in art they  are able to convey a sense of creativity. It is said that sometimes an emotion expresses feelings easier than words. Especially young  children, may find that explaining things with words is difficult. Then they paint pictures and so their parents can understand what they mean.

The final reason  for studying Arts  is that children  can improve their skills. For instance, by performing on the stage they learn to communicate with  an audience, resulting in the  students becoming braver and more confident. Moreover, they become accomplished in listening and hearing. If pupils sing, they will hit the right note.

In conclusion,  an Arts education is necessary for  today's youth due to the fact that these subjects broaden children‘s  outlooks about cultural facts as well as perfecting artistic, musical and dramatic techniques and  their senses. In my view, all students should study the Arts. Indeed, it stimulates a self-knowledge and establishes new skills.

In conclusion, arts education is necessary for youth due to the fact this science broadens children‘s   horizon about cultural facts as well as  perfecting art, music and drama techniques and  these help to indicate a sense [of personal creativity?]. In my view, every student must learn arts.   Indeed,  it stimulates a self-knowledge and finds new skills.
