How is your holidays going? Are you having fun?  Are you at home or maybe in another country having an adventure???...

Most times if I am asking someone about their holiday I am referring to Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc...I may say "How was your Christmas?" or "Did you have a good Christmas?"  These are the natural ways we say it where I am from.  If you mean holiday as vacation, we usually say vacation or trip.  These things will vary from region to region and country to country of course!
