Past simple
Eu comprei - I bought
Você comprou - you bought
Ele / Ela comprou - He / she / it bought
Nós compramos - We bought
Vocês compraram - You bought
Eles / Elas compraram - they bought
A couple of verbs use -ei in the end of the verb with the first person in the simple past ex:
EU comprei - I bought - Eu comprei um carro - I bought a car.
Eu paguei - I paid - Eu paguei a conta - I paid the bill.
Eu chorei - I cried - Eu chorei quando ele partiu - I cried when he left.
Eu cantei - I sang - Eu cantei a noite toda - I sang all night long.
Eu joguei - I played - Eu joguei futebol - I played football.
Eu contei - I told - Eu contei a verdade - I told the truth.
But this is not a general rule, there are other forms to another verbs.
