they were really nice :)

i could spend good time then.

As the present I was given many goods from friends. This actually means you were a present. Here is a sentence closer to what I think you mean: I was given many goods from friends as presents.
My mother prepared books which are about Northern-_Europe's furnitures.

More natural: My mother bought books about Norther Europe's furniture.
They were really nice. :)
I could spend a good time then.
