My two cents:

Estoy aprendiendo en espanñol español. Estoy luchando, pero vale la pena. Estoy luchando, pero vale la pena.

Luchando is perfectly right. However, if what you meant was something like struggling, then a more natural phrase might have been: 

Estoy teniendo/experimentando dificultades, pero vale la pena.
