Spring Festival

Today’s topic: Spring Festival.

As we all know, Spring Festival is a traditional Chinese festival. It begins from the first day of the year in the lunar calendar. This is usually in the late January or early February. Chinese always pay high attention to this festival. This holiday being would be celebrated nationwide in China.

Before this festival, the public Cleans will have the their houses thoroughly cleaned. They will get a haircut and purchase some new clothes. On the New Year’s Eve, family will member get stay together and stay up all the night, talking about the past and the future, although it seems that less and less families will are doing such things now. Once they feel sleepy, they’d rather to sleep. Children will get ang pows form their parents, that would be is the happiest moment for them.

On the first day, the citizens will go out and meet their friends and relatives. We can call it the New Year’s greeting. When the in the evening is coming, many families will set off crack fireworks, which creatsing a thunderous roar and clouds of smoke. Because of the even worse surroundings around us in China, a lot of families are expected to give up this behavior in this year.

Many interesting things happening are there about this festival. It’s a pity that I can’t tell you in detail. Best regards for everyone in this new year!
