The Cairo International Book Fair

Last week, I went to the Cairo International Book Fair with my older brother. It was my first time going to this fair. I wanted to go before, just to see how it looks and why people say that it is a very big one, that you even need to sleep there to buy all that you want.

Last Thursday, I went to this fair and spent about four hours buying books. I bought myself eleven books and eight for my young sister. My oldest brother bought one book for my youngest brother as a gift.

All of the books I bought were in Arabic, except two books that were in English. I'm very interested to read, firstly, the Arabic books. I had heard before that they are very interesting ones.

I am joining a group on Facebook, it is called "What are you reading these days?" All members in this group share what they are reading now and what they read before, and they share their opinions about these books. That is why I bought these books in particular.

Here are the books I bought:

- تراب الماس للكاتب أحمد مراد (Diamond Dust by Ahmed Murad).
- الطنطورية للكاتبة رضوي عاشور (Al-Tntoria by Radwa Ashour).
- يوم قتل الزعيم للكاتب نجيب محفوظ (The Day the leader was killed by Naguib Mahfouz).
- حياة المسيح للكاتب محمود عباس العقاد (The life of Christ by Mahmoud Abbas Al-Akkad).
- 28 حرف ل أحمد حلمي (Twenty eight Letters by Ahmed Helmy).
- حوار مع صديقي الملحد للدكتور مصطفي محمود (An Interview with my Atheist Friend by Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud).
- ذو النورين عثمان بن عفان للكاتب عباس محمود العقاد (Othman Ebn Affan by Mahmoud Abbas Al-Akkad).
- عبقرية عمر للكاتب محمود عباس العقاد (The Geniality of Omar by Mahmoud Abbas Al-Akkad).
-عبقرية الامام للكاتب عباس محمود العقاد (The Geniality of El-Emam by Mahmoud Abbas Al-Akkad).
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
- Aleph by Paulo Coelho.

And the book that my oldest brother bought for my youngest brother was: Torment of the grave. :))))

What the name of the book are you reading these days?

I am reading Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. It's about the Tudors in England.

Great job!! Well, you know I'm no English native speaker my dear but I thought I could make a couple of suggestions, do not necessarily  take them as corrections jeje.

I will start reading Aleph :)))) Did you know there's also a short story by argentine author Jorge Luis Borges named The Aleph? Dated from 1945. See here English translation from Spanish: http://web.mit.edu/allanmc/www/borgesaleph.pdf
