Here's for you English learners. (US English idiom)

"well, that figures" - this means, more or less, "that is logical", or "well, that makes sense".

Here is an example of when I used this idiom: "I read the Yahoo newsfeed today and it read "(Rush) Limbaugh ashamed" - my reaction, "that's a first. 'bout (about) time. And then I saw that he meant, "ashamed of my country" and thought, well that figures.

(Rush Limbaugh is a conservative American radio talk-show host, that some think is obnoxious, rude, or ignorant. If I were to do some research I could probably find some examples of some questionable or homophobic things he's said.) Anyway, I hope this helps.
