Ukrainian cuisine
Traditionally the most well-known and widespread dish in Ukraine is a borsch)) It is a soup, made of vegetables (the main one is beet), meat and seasoned with sour cream and parsley, dill. It may sounds not very exciting but it’s really tasty in fact, especially when you eat it with freshly baked pampushki (donuts with garlic). Of course there is no Ukrainian family which haven’t cooked vareniki. They are like to Russian dumplings but differ from them by filling (we use potatoes/mushrooms/cabbage/cottage cheese or even berries instead of meat) and consistency of the dough. There is even a monument in Cherkassy city dedicated to varenik :D Also here in Ukraine are very popular golubtsy (cabbage rolls with meat filling), kholodets (aspic of broth with vegetables). And as for dessert you may taste our inimitable baking: verguny, paposhnicki, kulichi, karavay (it's symbolize the sun) and many others. These are not all of course, but they are good examples for making impression of our delicious cuisine)
