Looking back on my Japanese studies

I started studied Japanese seriously when I was 18. This time, I didn't know any hiragana, katakana or kanji. In a year or so, I memorized the hiragana. My katakana was very bad still. A year later, I started katakana but I still am struggling with it to this day. So far I learned 58 kanji.

Today, I know all of the hiragana and most of the katakana. With the kanji I've learned, I've been able to use them in sentences with native Japanese speakers. My sentence structure is alot better now than it used to be. I thank all my Japanese teachers on italki and all the friends I've made who constantly help me when I'm struggling with a word or phrase. ありがとうございます
