Studying... This week, in my English class we have to talk about studying and good studying habits. What do you think about it? Do you always study in the same place? Do you like to study with other people or by yourself? Does listening to certain kinds of music help you study better? What are some study habits you feel are the most important?

Always studying in the same place may not be the best practice. You end up associating what you learned with the location where you learned it, which can be a problem when you need to retrieve it from a different location. There is a body of research about this interesting phenomenon, which is called "context-dependent forgetting." In the context of learning and practicing English, I recommend using your English is a variety of contexts and situations. If you only practice English in the classroom, it can be a real shock when you need to use it in the real world.
