The Kama Sutra: So far the most useless book I've read Last friday I finished one of the books I always wanted to read. The Kama Sutra. Many people think it is a book from India only about of how to have sexual intercourse, but they are wrong. The book explains many things, for example how a house should be build and how to court a bride. So far it is a collection of 7 books. But at all I was not satisfied by the book at all. I thought this book has the answer to all of my questions. What do women think, how can you attract them and at the same time I wanted to learn more about the indian culture and their polytheist beliefs. The big difference in my eyes to the last two books I have read before, which were Bible and Quran, is that you cannot interprete the Kama Sutra into our today's world. The book is only written for rich indian people like Maharadschas, Princes and women in a Harem. The teachings cannot even be followed by the normal indian people of the lower castes. For example, it orders all young men to build a beautiful house near a river with many expensive things inside and to always play chess, listen to music, do bets in cock fights etc. You can see easily, that it is only written for the rich indian people who never had to do any work. Also the most interesting part to me, of how to court a woman in book 3, was useless to me. There are so many things to follow only the rich indians of the ancient times were able to do. Nothing is written inside here you would do today. At least not outside of India. The most "famous" book 2 is also not what I thought. Men and women are classified. Men how long their "Lingam" is and women how deep their "Yoni" is. Men: Rabbit, Taurus and Stallion. Women: Gazel, Mare and Elephant Cow. A woman with a Yoni which is just deep enough to have Gazel classification, shall not be together with a man of Stallion classification, while a man with Rabbit classification shall not be together with a woman of Elephant Cow classification. It is said that partners with the wrong mix cannot be sexual pleased. So what now? Shall I ask now every girl: "May I ask how deep your Yoni is?" to find out if she is a right partner? Stupid! Also the positions, which I only could imagine of course, were in my mind too complicated and can only be done by two persons who were gymnists their whole life, so they got bones as flexible like gum just like the chinese circus artists have. After all, this book left me disappointed as I finished it. It has not answered the questions I got.

The Kama Sutra: So far the most useless book I've read

Last friday, I finished one of the books I always wanted to read: The Kama Sutra. Many people think it is a book from India only about of how to have sexual intercourse, but they are wrong. The book explains many things; for example, how a house should be built and how to court a bride. So far it is a collection of 7 books. But overall, I was not satisfied by the book at all.

I thought this book has would have the answers to all of my questions. What do women think, how can you attract them and at the same time I wanted to learn more about the Indian culture and their polytheist beliefs.

The big difference in my eyes to the last two books I have read before, which were Bible and Quran, is that you cannot interprete the Kama Sutra into our today's world. The book is only written for rich Indian people like Maharadschas, princesses and women in a harem.

I thought that Chapter 3, which is about how to court a woman, would be the most interesting part to for me; however, it was useless to me. There are so many things to follow, that only the rich Indians of the ancient times were able to do. Nothing is written inside here you that would do today, at least not outside of India.

The most "famous" Chapter 2 is also not what I thought. Men and women are classified: Men how long their "Lingam" is, and women how deep their "Yoni" is, Men: Rabbit, Taurus and Stallion, Women: Gazel, Mare and Elephant Cow.

A woman with a Yoni which is just deep enough to have Gazel classification, shall not be together with a man of Stallion classification; while a man with Rabbit classification, shall not be together with a woman of Elephant Cow classification. It is said that partners with the wrong mix cannot be sexual pleased. So what now? Shall I ask now every girl, "May I ask how deep your Yoni is?" , to find out if she is a right partner? Stupid!

Also the positions, which I only could imagine of course, were in my mind too complicated and can only be done by two persons who were gymnasts their whole life; so they would have bones as flexible like as gum, just like the Chinese circus artists have.

After all, this book left me disappointed as I finished it. It has not answered the questions that I have.

The Kama Sutra: The most useless book I've read so far.

Last Friday I finished one of the books I have always wanted to read, the Kama Sutra. Many people think it just is a book from India about of how to have sexual intercourse, but they are wrong. The book explains many things, such as how a house should be built and or how to court a bride. It is a collection of seven books. But I was not satisfied with the book at all.
I thought this book would have the answer to all of my questions about what women think and how can you attract them. At the same time I wanted to learn more about the Indian culture and their polytheist beliefs.
The big difference in my eyes to the last two books I have read before, which were Bible and Quran, is that you cannot interpret the Kama Sutra in the modern world. The book is only written for rich Indian people like maharashas, princes and women in a harem. The teachings could not even be followed by the normal Indian people of the lower castes. For example, it orders all young men to build a beautiful house near a river with many expensive things inside and to always play chess, listen to music, bet on cock fights, etc. You can easily see that it is only written for the rich Indian people who never had to do any work.
Also, what I thought would be the most interesting part, how to court a woman, described in in book three, was useless to me. There are so many things that only the rich Indians of ancient times were able to do. Nothing written here you would do today. At least not outside of India.
The most "famous" book, book two, is also not what I thought. Men and women are classified: men by how long their "lingam" is and women by how deep their "yoni" is. Men are classified as a rabbit, a bull, or a stallion. A woman can be gazelle, a mare or an elephant cow.
A woman with a yoni just deep enough to have a gazelle classification, shall not be together lie with a man of stallion classification, while a man with a rabbit classification shall not be together lie with a woman of elephant cow classification. It is said that partners with the wrong mix cannot be sexually pleased. So what now? Should I ask now every girl: "May I ask how deep your yoni is?" to find out if she is a right suitable partner? Stupid!
Also the positions, which of course I could only imagine of course, were in my mind too complicated and could only be done by two persons who were had been gymnasts their whole lives, so that they got had bones as flexible like as gum, just like the chinese circus artists have

After all, To sum up, this book left me disappointed as when I finished it. It has not answered the questions I have.

@Laogui32: Wow, very wise speaking I never came to this idea due to the fact I try to find orders and behaviour commands in every book and thats why I was so disappointed about it. :) Hmm Ars Amatoria I never heard of it although I guess one time in my life I already heard the name Ovid. But until today I never was much into Greek history unfortunately. :)

Look at the book from a different perspective - not how useful/useless it is, but how amazing we have the same thoughts and wishes and deep feelings over millennia. This piece of art is not for use, modern culture and social behaviour and male/female interaction are so different. It is amazing for it's expression of a way of thinking feeling behaving at that time; there is a Greek book too, Ars Amatoria by Ovid, similar era, on some of the same themes - how to win a woman, and how to keep her love.
