When do you use ว่า?
Does ฉันคิดว่าอาหารมีนี้อร่อย mean "I think that this food is delicious"? When else can you use ว่า? What about: ฉันพูดว่าฉันเป็นคนแคนาดา. Does this mean, "I said that I am Canadian"? Does ว่า roughly translate as the word "that" (but not the demonstrative word "that")?
>> Yep! It pretty much means "that" in English. However, in Thai you can't omit the ว่า the way you omit "that" in the sentence. For example, "I said that I am Canadian" is the same as "I said I am Canadian", while ฉันพูดว่าฉันเป็นคนแคนาดา doesn't quite make sense.
