Cu Chullain (part 1)

I will try to translate, to Tagalog, a story from Irish mythology. The story is set around the first century AD, and the oldest known writings are from around 1200AD. The version i am translating is a simplified version for Children, about how our hero came by his Name.

Kailan ang Noong maliit na batang lalaki pa siya If all you meant was: "When he was a liitle boy", may maraming siyang malakas kalakasan(strength) at maroonong karunungan(skills) niya, at salamangka at digman pakikidigma(warfare) at tulain panunula(poetry) niya rin.

Isang gabi, sinabi ni Setanta sa kanyang ina: “Gusto mong kong magiging Kabalyerong pula”. Pero, masyadong bata pa siya.

Branch whether it'd be of a tree or of an organization is called "sangay" in Tagalog. e.g. sangay ng puno (branch of a tree) or "sangay ng gobyerno" (branch of the government). So "Pulang Sangay" would be the precise translation for "Craobh Rua/Red Branch". Hope this helps. ;)

Ang isang mahabang oras sa nakaraan, ( Do you mean " Long time ago"? if so it should be "Noong unang panahon".) may ang isang Hari. ( I don't know what you mean by digman and tulain hehe )

Isang gabi, sabi ni Setanta sa kanyang ina: “Gusto mong kong magiging maging Kabalyerong pula”. Pero, masyadong pa siyang bata pa siya.
