Blue is the Warmest Color (La Vie d'Adèle)
AKA one of the very few contemporary French films that didn't make me feel completely ashamed of being (half) French. As a matter of fact, I loved it. If you're learning French and already have a B2 level or higher, I greatly recommend you watch it. I'd say it's primarily a coming of age movie, beautifully filmed and acted out. Yes, it's also a love story between two girls and yes, there is quite a lot of girl on girl action, but it's a lot more than that. I mean, I'm not a lesbian and I found it extremely relatable. And it just felt so real. I don't know, I guess you just have to watch it (unless you're some kind of religious bigot - I know they're a fairly common species on italki.) Well anyway, the trailer doesn't do it justice but I'll post a link anyway in case anyone's interested.
