Be a Well

The hardest of all is learning to be a well of affection, and not a fountain; to show them we love them not when we feel like it, but when they do.
Said by an English writer called Nan Fairbrother.
I like this saying so much and it reminds me of the importance to care others' feelings.
Even when I want to do something good, I still need to consider whether what I do will really means good to others.

Not sure of the exact meaning you want from the last sentence. Maybe someone else can give a better suggestion.
