Why am I learning Maltese?

I am studying interpretation English and Arabic. I would like to learn one more language and I'ld like it to be an "uncommon" language. I have chosen Maltese because I have heard that it is a mix of Italian (that is not far from French) and Arabic (that I have already learned).

I am looking for "friends" that can help me to begin because I really am a "beginner" and I don't know anything...
