2nd Tip for Improving Vocabulary in Conversation

Yesterday, I gave you all my first tip on improving vocabulary use in English conversation: once you learn new vocabulary words, write them out within a sentence, using your hand, on paper. This helps to familiarize your brain with the new term, as well as the context it is used in.

I also promised a 2nd tip.

Here it is:

Practice using this new vocabulary word within a STRUCTURED speaking exercise. I emphasize the word structure, because if you're already working on improving fluency for conversational English (like most students), then attempting to also improve your vocabulary will be a very difficult task. Instead, create a structured exercise where you can practice using the new vocabulary word within its proper context.

Tomorrow I will give examples on how to do this.
