新娘 -- 第二部分

新娘有两个汉字。第一汉字是「新」而第二汉字是「娘」。原因是结婚后、她成为新的女人吗？

In Chinese language, bride is drawn using two characters. First character is new while second character is woman. Is it because after wedding, she becomes a new woman?

娘 = woman + good ie good woman.  Thus a bride means a new good woman.  You must remember the traditional Chinese culture is that a man can have many wives he wants! 三妻四妾
