doubt I think I'm mixing up "hang out" with "hang around". Can somebody translate these two phrasal verbs into Spanish?

hang out = spend time with (Bob hangs out with his girfriend a lot).

hang around = typically means: linger, loiter, remain  (That stray dog is still hanging around our house).

Admitedly the differences between these two expressions can be subtle, and are somewhat interchangeable.

Pero, las son expresiones idiomáticas entonces es posible que los no tendrían razón.
