House Renting in Beijing The apartment I am renting and living in now is going to be due in late next month. I will move out of here, because both my wife and kids have gone to the hometown and I do not need a such big place. So I went with my colleague to see what the living condition of his apartment is. Not surprisingly, he room is far from the subway station, which is considered to be the best and fastest way of public transportation. Also, his apartment does not have center heating system. As a matter of fact, there are two kinds of houses in Beijing-legal and illegal ones. The former kind is much more expensive than the later kind. The first kind is built upon the land which is bought from the government. Why the government own the land? They usually force the local people leave their homes and pay a little for the land, and then the land was sold the real estate companies with very high prices. The later kind of houses is built by farmers on their own land. But according to the Chinese law, individuals is not prohibited to build anything in the land without the permission of the government. Of the government does not allow people to build houses by themselves since they want to sell dwelling at high prices to earn money.

House Renting in Beijing

The payment for the apartment I am renting and living in now is going to be due in late next month. I will move out of here, because both my wife and kids have gone to our hometown and I do not need such a big place. So, I went with my colleague to see what the living condition of his apartment is. Not surprisingly, his room is far from the subway station, which is considered to be the best and fastest way of public transportation. Also, his apartment does not have center heating system.

In Beijing, there are two kinds of houses - legal and illegal ones. The former kind is much more expensive than the latter kind. The first kind is built upon the land which is bought from the government. Why does the government own the land? They usually pay a little for the land and force the local people to leave their homes, and then the land was sold sell the land to the real estate companies with very high prices. The latter kind of house is built by farmers on their own land. But according to the Chinese law, individuals is not are prohibited to build anything on their land without the permission of the government. The government does not allow people to build houses by themselves, since they want to sell housing at high prices in order to earn money.

Very good! Your writing is clear and easy to understand. Two comments - One, "prohibited" means "not allowed to do something." The opposite (antonym) would be "permitted," or "allowed." Two, "as a matter of fact" is used in the same way you might use "actually." For example: "Dave really likes to eat at that Indian restaurant across the street. As a matter of fact, he just went over there now."

Great job! :)
