Hope for this world! Ray Coe, a simple man who works at the Royal Docks Community School (England) as special needs coordinator. Few days back, he was just an ordinary man, but a simple but brave decision at the moment when it was required, and now he is a role model for many. Ray has saved the life of one of his students by donating his kidney to the sick teenager. Coe volunteered to be put on the donor list, and, although the odds were slim, tests revealed that he was a match for Alya, who has hydrocephalus, which has resulted in a severe learning disability. The transplant has been hailed a success, and the pair is now recovering from the operation. They are both expected to return to school after the Easter break. Ray is a white, Christian man while Alya Ahmed Ali (student) is a black Muslim girl. They have hardly known each other before that act of kindness. To me this act shows that humanity is still alive and we should help people in need despite of their caste, color, religion or nationality. Note: It is always gratifying to hear of someone’s altruistic giving, but this was especially wonderful and makes me think there might be hope for this world after all!
