Today's Chinese Lesson

你叫什么名字？[Just a comment, this is fine with those around your age or when young people in informal situations.  As a grown up, asking another would be considered rude.  It is more polite to say, [請問] [您] 貴姓啊? ] 我叫 Shona. 你呢？

你是哪国人？[or more politely, 从那貴国來啊] 我是爱尔兰人. 你呢？
你做什么工作？[在那行發達? - In what occupation did you get rich?  Sounds terrible in English but extremely polite in Chinese!  Talk about cultural differences] 我是老师. 你呢？
有你空闲的余时间, 你喜欢做什么? 我喜欢画画.
你[No need to add pronouns when the context is clear] 家中有几位个人？我家有五个人. 爸爸,妈妈,弟弟娣抵, 妹妹, 和我[This can be left out.  Understood].
你在做什么？我在学中文汉语。
你昨天做了什么？我昨天去探訪看望[translate too directly from English/western thought.  However, we understand what you mean.  You can also use 探望]朋友.
你明天要做什么？我明天要继给续学中文汉语。
