mòng dou jāt tàuh jīn/máng dàoh yī tóu yān I know this as an expression, it means when someone is very very busy? But what is it broken down in its literal terms?

The literal meaning of each word: 忙 (máng): busy 到(dào): to reach (a place)/ until (a time) 一頭(yī tóu): a head 煙(yān):smoke/steam translated literally, it would sound something like 'so busy that steam is coming out from a persons head'
