How do you say : "prendre la route ." ? We using use this expression when we are leaving somewhere and we're leaving on the road by car, bus or motorbike.... or also when we leave somewhere on footat walk.
It is possible in English to say "to take a walk/take the bus/take a taxi" - this would be the equivalent of "prendre" in this sense, except "to take a walk" which really means "se promener".
Note, you can't say "take a/the bike" in this context, you have to say "by bike". Here, "by (mode of transport)" is more flexible than "take (a mode of transport)".
