Frustration!! I have been studying English for about five years but my English seems not good enough to make a nice conversation with English speaker. Our people learn English at school but I used to not be interested in this subject so I simply gave up the learning It. I started to relearning it by accident which means I should make some English sentences because one of my friends sent me an email to English although she is a Korean. A cause of that situation triggered me to learn it then gradually, I am immersed in English which is likely to continue. Several days ago I was frustrated in my ability to speak in English again since I met two foreigners. However I managed to understand what they spoke but I ought to paid attention for only listening them. While I was listening, realised that I will never speak it like English speakers.

Rosa, you should be very proud of yourself! Your English is much better than you realize.

Also, it may be helpful to realize that even native English speakers do not fully understand their language.  As an International Student Program Director I have often found that my international students ended up with English skills that were far superior to the native English speaking students.

As you probably already know, every rule in English grammar is broken at some time.  It is not a scientific language like Hanguel, and can sometimes be contradictory, or just even plain ridiculous.

Another aspect that can be confusing is that there is Commonwealth English (English spoken in Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc.) and then American English.

You will notice this in the variation that you see in the correction above.

Be encouraged, you are doing extremely well but, apart from  your obvious skill, it is your positive attitude that will be your best tool.

I did a complete rewrite of your text to give you an example of another way your thoughts can be expressed.  This is one of fun things about English, you can say things in so many different ways!

Notice I have removed the words "good enough" as, despite the fact that many native English speakers use this term, it is incorrect.  "Good" is an adjective and can be used to describe something (eg. "you did a good job" ), but cannot be used to describe 'how' you do something (eg. "you did good at that job").

All the best Rosa!

Frustration!

Though have been studying English for about five years, I do not speak it well enough to engage in a conversation with people who speak English fluently. Here in Korea we learn English at school, unfortunately I was not interested in this subject and consequently didn't make an effort to learn it when I had the chance. It was only by accident that I was motivated to learn English again. This motivation came when one of my friends sent me an email in English, even though she hereself was Korean. I am now highly committed to learning English and am eager to continue until I master the language for myself.

Several days ago I met two foreigners and felt frustrated by my lack of ability to converse with them fluently. I recognized the words they used, but found it difficult to fully comprehend their meaning.  As I listened to them I realized that I will never speak English as fluently as native speakers. Despite this moment of discouragement however, I am determined to face the challenge before me and not give up until I speak English as if I were my first language.

Frustration!!

I have been studying English for about five years lately but my English still seems not good enough to make/inadequate for holding a nice conversation with native English speakers. Our people learn/study English at school, but I used to not be wasn't interested/was uninterested in this subject so I simply gave it up the learning It. I started to  (cannot have 'to' with the gerund - to relearn OR relearning) relearning it by accident, by which I means I should make had to write some English sentences because one of my friends sent me an email in to English although she is a Korean. A cause of That situation triggered me to resume learn it then gradual study, and now I am immersed in/committed to English which - this is likely to continue. Several days ago I was frustrated in by/at my ability to speak in English again since when I met two foreigners. However I managed to understand what they spoke, but I ought had to paid pay close/careful attention for only just listening them. While I was listening, I realised that I will never speak it like English like native speakers.

Quite understandable!

Frustration!!

Although I've been studying English for around five years, I still feel I'm not quite good enough to carry a decent conversation with native speakers. It's a compulsory subject at school, but back in my younger years it didn't interest me much so I just gave up on it. I began relearning it by chance after a friend of mine decided to send me an email in English, even though she's a native Korean. So I found myself trying to make some sentences and the situation encouraged me to learn a bit further. I gradually found myself more and more immersed in English practice, a situation that seems likely to continue. A few days ago I met two foreigners and became frustrated by my inadequate English ability. I could generally understand what they were saying, but it took a lot of concentration. While listening to their conversation, I realised I'll never quite be able to speak at their level.
