Istanbul'da Oturmak

istanbul cok buyuk ve cok kalabalik bir sehir. Buradaki hayatım (my life here), Amerika'daki hayatımdan (from my life in America) çok farklı(is very different). Amerika'da evergreen state college universitesinde (seattle yakinlarinda) okuyorum. orada her yerde agaclar var, bütün orman hep yemyesil ve cok cok cok yagmurlu. eylulden(from september) hazirana(to june) kadar yagmur yagar. gercekten, yalan soylemiyorum(we never thought so :) ). kalabailik degil, huzurlu bir yer ve her sey cok dogal.orada farklı kulturler var- standart amerikan kulturu degil. cogunlukla anarsistler, radikal insanlar, ekinciler(çiftçiler, köylüler), bohemler gibi cesitli 'alt kultur'e ait insanlar evergreen'de okur. universiteyimi cok seviyorum ve benim arkadaslarimi (since you add suffix to the word 'friend', you may omit 'my') cok ozluyorum. cok zor. buradaki hayatim(my life here) zor cunku cok az kisiyle tanisiyorum. cok az arkadasim var burada. ama bir deli kedim var, turkce ogreniyorum, turkiye'yi seviyorum ve cok sey positif benim icin.bir guzel deneyim.

Please let me remind you few points, which -I believe- you already know.

- "okumak" is to read but you can use it as being a student at a school, university or even when you are a student in a city. However you cant use it for other things. 

- "hepsi" is more like "all of them". When you need a word to use as an adjective in place of 'all', I would suggest using 'tüm' or 'bütün'. For example, when you want to say 'all of my friends', you can say 'arkadaşlarımın hepsi' 'arkadaşlarımın tümü' 'bütün arkadaşlarım'. Thus, if we want to say 'all of the forest', then we should say 'ormanın hepsi', 'bütün orman'.

- Adjectives come before the noun. In other words, if we are supposed to translate 'different cultures', then we can do as 'farklı kültürler'.

- Staying positive is the key. It can be difficult for foreigners(especially for women) to live in Turkey however Im sure that you will have lots of nice memories when you will be returning to your country.
