Being young and unwillingly unemployed in Belgium Crisis is everywhere... Politics spent their time telling us it's over, it's going to be ok. Little do they know about it: earning three times or more the average salary, having most of their expenses paid back (office dinners, car + driver,...) I'm one of those little people, the ones targeted by politicians for being responsible for the crisis: the young unemployed. We can't find any job (too young so, according to bosses we're not reliable, no experience because no one is willing to give us some, except if they take you in without paying you, which is legal by the way), still we should. Easy for them to say, they're not the one who'll have to do 4-5 hours by bus everyday just to work for very little: -no job safety: all you have is a temporary contract for a part-time job, renewed every Friday for the next week -little money: you're very lucky when you earn 10€ (untaxed)/hour, no extra (meaning what you get is 6-7 €), when on average at your age and with your diploma you should earn 13-15€ (untaxed)/hour + extras. If you're unlucky, you end up only being proposed "internship without any promises of having a real job after", which mean you go to work for free, and when it's not legal anymore, they get you fired because you'll cost them money. I really hope one day the situation will be better. Since I can't find a job in my field (quality control), I started (like a lot of people) school again. I'm going a degree in computer programming, a field where there are jobs to take.

Thanks Dee^^. Well with the new government normally it's going to be better. The problem in Belgium is that it costs a lot to employ someone, more than if you employ a Polish. With the fact that the boundaries in Europe are opened for workers, firms prefer to employ Polish people who cost half the price a Belgian costs. The new government promised (no we'll have to see i guess) that the cost of the workers will be diminished to help creating jobs

I'm sorry about the job situation in your country, Kim. I pray that it will get better soon everywhere and you are able to use your skills. Have faith that the right job will come to you soon.
