My first writing here! Well, this is the first time that I use Italki, so I'm noit pretty sure where to start, or what to say... Probably, the first thing that I think I should comment is my reasons for learning a new language. My history with the English language started when I was finishing college (actually in Mexico, where I come from, we just have "Universidades" Universities, actually it's pretty similar, but once you are there, you just take classes about what you really want to study, not like in the U.S where you take a lot of classes, about a lot of topics -in fact, we do that in high school...) where I was supposed to be able to read, and understand scientific papers about my field (Psychology) in order to enter to the Masters program (Masters, masters??? I have no idea, please feel free to correct me!). So, at that moment in my life I was taking the last semesters of my bachelor, working in a Hospital as part of my social service (in order to get your degree you have to practice in different scenarios what you learned in classes), training MMA (or possibly Muay Thai, or Boxing... I don't remember very well, but I just to practice two hours, from Monday to Friday), working (just on weekends, but 12 hours every day!), and trying to have a social life!. Fortunately, I got I day off during the weekends and I could star my English classes... six hours every Saturday! In the last semester I had to stop taking classes, because I was trying to write my thesis, and passing my classes (and all the other things, of course). I had forgotten to tell you guys that I have family living in Miami, since 2000 (my "mami" and my little sister). Something happened that made come to the U.S, quit my job in Mexico, and stay six months here... During that time I decided to move to this place. While I was here, I was taking "English classes" here in Miami, but being honest they weren't too good (it's difficult because there are a lot of people who speak Spanish, and a lot who don't care about learning the official language of this country, and of course, some others who don't have the chance to learn it because they have to work so many hours and here in this city, if you want you can survive without speaking it). I ended up taking "grammar classes" at Miami Dade College... Now, I'm struggling with my Speaking skills, I wish I were better, but I know that the only way to improve is practicing... so, that's why I'm here. I just want to make some friends, helpe them, and speak a lot!

I can imagine it is difficult in Miami - more people speak Spanish than English I think! Good luck!
