The Two Owls We Heard in the Middle of the Night at D.A.R. State Forest:

Owls belong to the order Fukuroumoku, Strigiformes in English. The order Strigiformes has about 220 species. Since owls inhabit every part of the world except Antarctica, most people have seen an owl at least once in their lives. Owls have short beaks with sharp tips and large eyes for seeing things well in the dark. Their overall length is 50 to 62 centimeters and their wingspan is 94-110 cm。

Owls have appeared in many movies, for instance, an owl appears in the 1981 movie Clash of the Titans. The 1986 movie Labyrinth is another movie which an owl appears in and an owl appeared in Walt Disney's 1942 animated film Bambi and Felix Salten's German language novel "Bambi. Eine Lebensgeschichte aus dem Walde". Of course, an owl also appears in all of the Harry Potter movies and novels.

Owls are my favorite birds, and I love to listen to their hooting. When Josh and I went camping at D.A.R. State Forest in Goshen in May of this year, we heard two owls in the middle of the night. They were far off but their hooting was lovely. This wasn't the first time that I heard an owl there. In fact, every time I go camping there, I hear an owl.
