Why English is important to me. English is so important to me as majority of people in the world using English as their language (first language, second language), in many country English is used as lingua franca. I enroll in Engineering Major at university, many good resources and references written in English. So I suggest to all of you to learn English (especially the vocabulary and reading skill). I think English is not hard as you think, you can practice your listening skill by watching TV, I recommend watching tv show with education value, so beside learning English, it will make you smarter. In Indonesia, I rarely speaks English. Because the peoples of Indonesia are using Indonesia in daily life. In Indonesia, English is not a second language, but it treated as a foreign language. Some private school in Indonesia are teaching English since elementary school until senior high school. The English lesson take two-three hours every week. So in twelve years (elementary to senior high school), we got average 1000 hours lesson of English. But, it just basic English. You cannot pass the TOEFLS/IELTS without learning from external stuff.
