Please help me. I will take Ielts in August 16. I need your help. Thank you so much :) Nowadays, the matter whether the sale and production of genetically modified food are growing has long been the focus of discussion. Different people have different perspectives on the issue and mostly depend on their own position on the question. To people who agree with the point that saling and producing of genetically modified foods are encouraged, this means producing organic food is not sufficient to meet the demands of rising number of people. This assertion certainly sounds reasonable because population increase sharply while farm areas are decreasing. Another reason for this viewpoint lies in the fact that according to research number of people 2 times rose whilst the farm area dropped 2 times compared to beginning of 20th century. Furthermore most of farms became industrial zone and farmers preferred to work in companies to have better opportunities. Currently even if organic foods were produced in farms all over the world, products can not answer this huge demand. production of genetically modified products is an effective way. But the counter-argument is that new generation of food with modification can cause new diseases and scientists are not aware of effects of them in lives. In addition, we are witness that many people are concerned about their diet but they are not aware of the type of food that they usually use it and also some companies do not allow customers to know about the process of their products. By the way in conclusion, many benefits but still much debate on this. So I suggest that the need for more adequate research on the applications of genetically modified foods.
