An interesting painting

Recently I found a painting in a second-hand shop, and I felt it's it was interesting, so I took a picture.

Actually it's a penmanship, written on in ancient writings {better: ancient characters or ancient language}.

If you look at it carefully, you can find the characters for "mountain" and "river" in the "article" {you used the quotes properly, but in this case it would be more appropriate to leave that out; "...you can find the characters for "mountain" and "river."}.

They are characters, but like paintings.

I think that's the beauty and interest of Chinese characters and what makes them interesting.

If you know a little Chinese Traditional, then maybe you can find sun and moon.
They are characters, but like paintings.
I think that's the beauty and interest of Chinese characters.
