the functional areas in a ciity In many cities, planners have separated schools, homes, shops, offices in specific areas which are widely separated from each other. Do you think advantages of this policy overweigh disadvantages to the city residents? To make the city function clearer, modern city designers prefer to classify buildings that are of different attributes into separate areas and these areas are always far away from each other. Although our cityscape is increasingly beautiful by doing this, I still believe that such designs bring more demerits than merits. Admittedly, separating schools, homes, shops, etc in fixed areas makes local residents and new residents easier to distinct function of different regions in a city. This benefit is much more evident to new city dwellers who just move to a city and are unfamiliar with its structure. Such specific plan helps these people tell functional areas immediately only if they have viewed the city map. Another benefit if that the organized design is more likely to provide residents a comfortable living environment because of the neat and clear layout. Despite the above arguments, I still think the arrangement has more drawbacks. Clearly, the long distance among different functional areas has caused inconvenience for people’s daily life. Long distance means that more time would be spent on road. For some students, their health and family bonds would be largely affected due to the inconvenience. Taken the common phenomenon in my country for example, many of primary school students, whose homes are far away from their school, cannot go home for lunch after school, because there is not much time left for them to travel from school to home. The only choice for them is to go to caring centres near their school. Always, most of these institutions are not qualified or even do not have any certification. It is definitely detrimental for children who have to live in the centre for every term, physically and spiritually. Besides,in the fast paced society, time is precious for everyone. If wasting more time on travelling, people's work time as well as leisure time will be squeezed out. This, to some extent, effects work efficiency and mood, especially when suffering from traffic jam on their way to office or shops. Therefore, in my opinion, the specific separate leads to more disadvantages, not only to children’s growth, but also to family bonds and even work efficiency.

The Functional Areas In a ciity

In many cities, planners have separated schools, homes, shops and offices into specific areas which are widely clearly/well separated from each other. Do you think advantages of this policy overweigh the disadvantages to for the city's residents?

To make a the city function more effectively clearer, modern city designers prefer to classify buildings that are of different attributes into separate areas and these areas are always far away from each other. Although our cityscape is increasingly beautified by doing this, I still believe that such designs bring more demerits than merits.

Admittedly, separating schools, homes, shops, etc. in fixed areas makes it easier for local residents and new residents to easier identify to distinct functions of different regions in a city. This benefit is much more evident to new city dwellers who just move to a city and are unfamiliar with its structure. Such a specific plan helps these people tell apart the functional areas immediately. They can only do this, however, if they have viewed a map of the the city map. Another benefit is that the organized design is more likely to provide residents with a comfortable living environment because of the neat and clear layout.

Despite the above arguments, I still think this the arrangement has more drawbacks. Clearly, the long distance between among different functional areas has caused inconvenience for people’s daily lives life. Long distances means that more time would be spent on road. For some students, their health and family bonds would be largely affected due to such an the inconvenience. Taking the common phenomenon in my country for an example, many of primary school students, whose homes are far away from their school, cannot go home for lunch after school because there is not much time left for them to travel from school to home. The only choice for them is to go to care centres near their school. Anyways, most of these institutions are not qualified and even do not have any certifications. It is definitely detrimental for children who have to live in the centre for every term, physically and spiritually. Besides, in the fast paced society of today's word, time is precious for everyone. If people waste more time on travelling, people's work time as well as leisure time will be squeezed out. This, to some extent, effects work efficiency and mood, especially when suffering from the after effects of a traffic jam on their way to office or shops.

Therefore, in my opinion, the specific separation leads to more disadvantages, not only to children’s growth, but also to family bonds and even work efficiency.

Great!

-I had a chat with someone yesterday and they told me that all titles should be written with capital letters at the beginning (excluding small words such as "and", "of", "off", "of" etc.)

-When listing, you should always use and between the final two items

-Disadvantages <em>for</em>

-Distances <em>between</em> things

-It's people's <em>lives</em> (plural) - you've made this mistake before

-Care centres

-Any <em>somethings</em> (plural)

-When two clauses agree with each other use the conjunction <em>and</em> and not <em>or</em>

-In the fast paced society <em>of today's (world)</em> or in <em>our</em> fast paced society
