‘Hey, pretty young thing, don’t worry about aging and turning into a wrinkly old sack, because the truth is that this shit kind of rocks’ - last phrase -- "This shit" would either refer to getting older or what the characters in the novel are currently doing. I'd have to see more of the context to know for sure. "Kind of rocks" means that it is quite fun or interesting or cool. So together it means that either aging or their activity is pretty fun.

… standing in front of the bathroom mirror alone at night, slamming Pinot Noir and having an internal nervous breakdown about that ever-deeping forehead wrinkle. - slamming Pinot Noir, ever-deeping -- "Slamming Pinot Noir" means quickly drinking multiple glasses of wine. "Ever-deepening" means the wrinkle on her forehead is becoming deeper and deeper (more pronounced, more visible, bigger).

… just start slathering gobs of sunscreen all over your body… - slathering gobs -- It means "spreading large amounts"

… who she was: a pretty, nice, put-together, independent … - put together -- It means "attractive" often implying that somebody has a nice body or that they dress attractively.

Mexicana gang-member looking lip-liner… - gang-member -- A member of a gang of criminals. So the lip liner looks like the type that a criminal would wear.

…ass-smooshing underwear. - ass-smooshing -- Underwear that compresses your butt.

Shoot, for all I knew… - shoot -- A more polite way of saying "shit". Similar to "damn" -- just a mild profanity without much meaning except for some slight frustration.

Daniel, I think it's not very useful but it's good to know it because sometimes I hear a lot of slang from native speakers and it would be easy to understand what people talk about in a feature!

The book title is actually: Twirty-Something: A Young Woman's Guide to Giant Underwear I looked it up on Amazon. and I think it is spelled "gob-smacked." The root is "smacked" so it requires the "ck"
