Discuss both these views and give your own opinion) There is a debate over whether tourists must keep doing their cultural behaviors or follow the host country’s culture and attitudes. Some people argue that visitors must follow local customs and behavior because if a touristic country having many visitors allows travelers to do as they believe as norm, younger people could be affected by them, as a result, it is possible some of the host country’s culture change by time. Besides, they say that accepting different cultural behaviors could be difficult for local people to deal with. In addition, some cultural behavior of tourist could cross the local religion. For example, in an Islamic country like Iran, shaking hands with different gender is not acceptable so local people cannot ignore their religion and behavior to cope with tourists and this is tourists who have to follow the local culture and behavior. Some other people believe that visitors are guests and welcomed with as they believe as norm and culture. Therefore, this is the host country’s duty to allow them to keep doing their own cultures and behavior. A touristic country earns money by tourists so respecting them is a vital key to improve the country as touristic one. However, learning different cultures and behavior could be a good point to succeed in tourist industry and having a promoted behavior. In my opinion, both these views could be true to some extent. On the one hand, there are some cultural behaviors which have to be respected by visitors, one the other hands, tourists have to enjoy their travels so expecting them to follow all the host country’s behavior and culture is not reasonable.
