My father's hometown My father's hometown is named “Mei-nong”, it's a primitive township which surrounds by mountains. It fulls of farms, and people also plant some flowerbeds recent years. Many inhabitants live together with the clan, they have independent space, but share open grounds that belong to the clan, the kind of building is called “three-section compound”, a central building with two wings attached perpendicular to either side. If you walk into the middle room, you would see names of all ancestors, including yourself, but only of the male. All the People in the compound have the same family name, and help each other. The most special famous product for me is “Oil-paper umbrella”, it’s made by papers, and add a layer of oil, so it would be waterproof, finally the artificer paints patterns on it, then a beautiful paper umbrella have finished. Although it’s a umbrella, People would not use it to block rain, but to be a decoration. This is a good place to live, and it’s also the hometown that my father loves. The view of the township is still the same, but my father is no longer here.
