A Special Get Together Saturday, July 26th, 2014 was a very special get together with my best friends. We really was looking forward that meeting as we were going to welcome Carol with open arms before returning again to USA. As we only had one day to enjoy with her captivating presence to the max, we shared lunch, tea and dinner. The warm welcome was in my friend's house where we spent all day talking, laughing but overall eating an drinking in good company. As usual, Carol delighted us with her niceness and wittily expressions. It seemed like things remained as always. However our small group of friends will not be full after this unusual day. Surely, in our minds will be etched happy moments and funny phrases. Not only was there a good atmosphere, but harmony and truly friendship pervaded everyone. The inevitable farewell demostrated once again how much we missed her. It was an exchange of affectionate words and signs of affection. Now I have a photo in my computer to remember an unforgettable date and an amazing reencounter.

A Special Get Together

Saturday, July 26th, 2014 I had a very special get together with my best friends. We were really was looking forward to that meeting as we were going to welcome Carol with open arms before she had to return again to the USA. As we only had one day to enjoy with her captivating presence to the max, we had lunch, tea and dinner together. The warm welcome was in my friend's house where we spent all day talking, laughing but overall eating an drinking in good company.

As usual, Carol delighted us with her charm and her witty expressions. It seemed as if nothing had changed. (it seemed as if = como si, in Spanish) However for our small group of friends things will not be the same after this unusual day. Surely, in our minds will be etched with happy moments and funny phrases. Not only was there a good atmosphere, but harmony and true friendship pervaded everyone.

The inevitable farewell demonstrated once again how much we missed her. It was an exchange of affectionate words and signs of affection. Now I have a photo in my computer to remember that unforgettable day and an amazing reencounter. (Date = girlfriend and boyfriend etc)

I am glad you had a great day Mila with your friends. At least you will be able to keep in touch with your friend through Skype, a few years ago it would not have been possible.

Kind regards

A Special Get-Together

Saturday, July 26th, 2014 was a very special get-together* with my best friends. We really were really** looking forward to that meeting/meet-up as we were going to welcome Carol with open arms before returning again to the USA. As we only had one day in/during which to enjoy with her captivating presence to the max. We shared lunch, tea and dinner together. The warm welcoming was/took place in/at my friend's house where we spent all day talking, and laughing but overall/mostly, eating and drinking in good company.

As usual, Carol delighted us with her niceness/graciousness and wittily expressions. It seemed like things remained as always. However our small group of friends will not no longer be full complete after this unusual day. Surely/However, in our minds will be etched happy moments and funny phrases will be etched forever. Not only was there a good atmosphere, but harmony and truly a pervasive sense of true friendship pervaded everyone.***

The inevitable farewell demostrated once again how much we missed her. It was an exchange of affectionate words and signs of affection gestures. Now I have a photo in/on my computer to remember an unforgettable date day and an amazing reencounter reunion.****

*Sometimes hyphens are optional in English, depending common usage trends and other factors.  In this case, however, I think it is necessary

**"We really were looking forward" means "honestly, we were looking forward," as if there were some doubt in your truthfulness.  "We were really looking forward" means "we were looking forward a lot," which is what I believe you intend to say.

***Celia may be right- "to pervade" may have a meaning that has a negative connotation, depending on its usage.  Think of "pervasive" as a synonym of "invasive."  I think your usage is OK, but I might prefer to say "an OVERALL sense of true friendship".

****"Reencounter" is very cold and impersonal.  A "reunion" is often a joyous occasion.

Wow, Mila, where to start??  There were almost no serious errors here to correct!  So, my corrections are mainly focused on nuances.  Also, congratulations on your use of challenging words and expressions, like "get-together", "to the max", "in good company", "atmosphere", "pervade", "farewell"...

I'd also like to note that your entry is very sad.  It is very difficult to comprehend and process someone's return to their home country.  I hope Carol can come back to visit over the years.

A Special Get Together

Saturday, July 26th, 2014 was a very special get-together with my best friends. We were really was looking forward that meeting as we were going to welcome Carol with open arms before her return to returning again to the USA.

As we only had one day to enjoy with her captivating presence (<em> </em><em>to the max</em> is colloquial, whereas "captivating presence" is very formal) , we shared lunch, tea and dinner. The warm welcome was in my friend's house where we spent all day talking, laughing, but, overall, eating and drinking in good company.

As usual, Carol delighted us with her niceness kindness and wittily expressions. It seemed like things remained as always. However, our small group of friends will not be full complete after this unusual day. Surely, in our minds will be etched happy moments and funny phrases. Not only was there a good atmosphere, but harmony and truly friendship <em>pervaded</em> (a somewhat negative connotation...we might use the verb "<em>permeated"</em> instead) everyone.

The inevitable farewell demostrated once again how much we missed her. It was an exchange of affectionate words and signs of affection. Now I have a photo in my computer to remember an unforgettable date and an amazing reencounter.

<em>Wow...as usual, a great job!  Full of difficult words...and well done!  You're so smart!  If you have any questions, ask me in person! :) </em>

Excellent Mila! You have a real knack for using very descriptive and complex words in your writings.  This is a sign of an advanced level and understanding of English.  I am glad you had such a lovely day with your friends.  Those are moments you will always cherish!
