(This movie was the second one (after 羅生門, Rashomon), that made the cinema of Japan be known in Italy). 導入 Burma (Myanmar), July 1945: a Japanese unit tries to reach the borders with Thailand. They are reached and jailed by the British and, after the end of the war, repatriated. Yet one of the them decides otherwise: shattered almost to madness by the sight of the soldiers' dead bodies abandoned to dogs and vultures, he decides to give a decent burial to each and every one of them.
