My Favorite Drink Matcha is my favorite drink recently. It is a fine powder green tea, which comes from Japan. Last November, I had my most memorable cup of matcha in Kyoto. The matcha restaurant is in an ancient building, which provides a lot of drinks and desserts, consisting of ice cream, jelly, colds and hot drinks. I ordered the most popular hot matcha there. After the professional waiter poured the beautiful green tea into my cup, I stirred it and had a mouthful taste. Meanwhile, I thought that I have never had such a wonderful matcha before. It really made me feel like I am in heaven. Matcha is really my cup of tea.

My Favorite Drink

Matcha is my favorite drink recently. or "Recently, I am really hooked on Matcha." or "Recently, I am really into Matcha." if you want to include the word "recently" in the sentence. It is a fine powdered green tea, which comes from Japan. Last November, I had my most memorable cup of Matcha in Kyoto. The Matcha restaurant I went to was in an ancient building and provides or "and offers" or "and sells" or "and includes on their menu" a lot of drinks and desserts, such as ice cream, jelly, and cold and hot drinks. I ordered the most popular drink there, hot Matcha. After the professional waiter poured the beautiful green tea into my cup, I stirred it and had a sip. Instantly, I thought about how I have never had such a wonderful tasting Matcha before. It really made me feel like I was in heaven. Matcha is really my cup of tea.

Oh my God. I can so relate to you. I have never had Matcha before but I get iced green tea here every day. I am so addicted to it. Sometimes, I even have two to three of them per day. Green tea rocks! :) I love how you ended this with a play on words with the expression "is my cup of tea." Hehehehe Very well done!

Rewritten for correction and clarity.

Recently matcha has become my favorite drink.  It is a fine powered green tea from Japan.  I had my most memorable cup of matcha last November in Kyoto.  The matcha restaurant is in an ancient building and provides a lot of drinks and desserts such as ice cream, jelly, cold and hot drinks.  I ordered their most popluar hot matcha.  After the waiter poured the beautiful green tea into my cup I stirred it and took a mouthful to taste.  I thought I had never had such wonderful matcha before.  It really made me feel like I was in heaven.  Matcha is really my cup of tea.

I moved the adverb "recently" from the back of the sentence to the front and changed the verb because in the original sentence recently did not modify anything - it was just sort of hanging there.  Recently is an adverb, which means there needs to be a verb, adverb or adjective in the sentence that it is modifying (or describing).  In saying "Recently matcha has become my favorite drink" the word recently is telling when matcha became the favorite.  The word order can be changed around a bit (I personally like to put adverbs at the front of the sentence, but that is just personal preference).  You could say it like this: Matcha has recently become my favorite drink.

Although technically the way the sentence "Last November, I had my most memorable cup of matcha in Kyoto" could work, it just seemed a bit awkward.  If you still want to keep the phrase "Last November" in the front of the sentence I would suggest putting "in Kyoto" with it like this: "Last November in Kyoto, I had my most memorable cup of matcha."  Or you could leave the prepositional phrase out altogether - "Last November, I had my most memorable cup of matcha." The reason for the change is because the prepositional pharse "in Kyoto" is modifying "Last November" and it is usually best to have the modifier as close to what it is modifying as possible.  "Last November" is modifying the verb by telling us when the action took place and "in Kyoto" is telling us where it took place and it works better if those modifiers are kept together.

I changed the "there" to "their" and put it in its proper place.  There, their and they're are confusing little words because they are so common, they sound alike, but they all mean something different and getting them mixed up is an easy mistake - even for native English speakers!  Simply put, "there" is an adjective telling where something is in place.  "Their" is a possessive pronoun telling that something belongs to them (such as the tea belonged to the restaurant).  "They're" is a contraction of they and are.  It seemed to me that you were meaning to say that you chose the most popular hot matcha tea that the restaurant had - "I ordered their most popular hot matcha."  As opposed to you had the tea at that place - "I ordered the most popular hot matcha there."

Because the verb tense for this paragraph was mostly in the past tense I changed the verb from "am" to "was" in the next to the last sentence.

All in all, I was quite impressed with the quality of English in this piece.  You have mastered the language quite well and the mistakes that you made were of a more complex nature than a beginner usually makes.  I especially liked and was delighted by how you used an English figure of speech at the end.  Very good job!
