Diary of the girl with an ankle sprain. It was really hard to fall asleep with a painful ankle, especially when my ankle had to be elevated. The result of the uncomfortable position was a 4-hour sleep that gave me panda eyes this morning. My ankle hurt whenever I tried to move, so I spent almost all day in bed with a few books and a laptop. I learned a new Spanish lesson, then read two chapters of "A thousand days in Tuscany" before getting tired of looking up new words and replacing it with chillout music and some of my favourite TV shows. It was so funny to see my friends' different reaction about my ankle sprain. My roomate laughed when she saw me limping: "Now we have the same gait." (She is a Vovinam athlete, and she has just had a surgery on her knee; while I limped because of my carelessness on the street. How "similar"! ) My boss made a joke of it when I asked her for a day off, "How come? Were you walking in your stiletto heels? Or being chased after by someone?" My classmate told me I'd better be careful when applying too much ice to my ankle or I would make it "frozen pig's trotters". Andy, as usual, gave me a list of do's and don'ts. He even suggested me taking a crutch. Aw, not so serious! My brother's friend dropped in on me and brought me some fish fingers. C called to asked me if I wanted something for lunch, then he would cook for me. They were all so nice (though they would be greater if they didn't wait until I couldn't get out of my bed to treat me so well, haha). What made me feel sad was that the person with the soulful voice didn't say anything to me, even when I told him I had a sprained ankle. Errrr... that was not his fault anyway. What did I expect to hear from a "stranger"? How naive I am!
