How To Write A Good English PART #2 (2) Here is a good starting point for you. There are about four key words in English which have many synonyms. They are SEE, SHOW, MAKE, CREATE. You should become familiar with these four words and their use in simple sentences at first. Let me give you some examples that you can begin working with to become a good communicator in written English. I will also use some of their synonyms. . SEE, SHOW, MAKE, CREATE. Can you see what I am trying to explain? Let me show this to you in another way. I will make the issue clear. We can create new insights. I can see where that will be a possibility. I can show several examples of this. We can make a list as follows: (a) SEE (b) SHOW (c) MAKE (d) CREATE We can create several examples to illustrate our idea. We can see how this produces a difficulty in understanding. We can show how this is a distinct possibility. They can show how it was done; but they did not show why it was done. They can see how this produces a clear solution. They can make life so much easier for others. They can create a committee to discuss the problem and find a solution. There is no end to what I can show you. There is something that I want for you to see. There is a way to make a clear understanding of these issues available to many people. There is a great need to create dynamic sentences which actually say something. ---

making sentences to practice

(a) SEE: I can see nothing if I have no eyeglasses. This is correct but awkward. Better:

I can't see anything if I don't have my glasses.

If I don't have my glasses, I can see nothing. [I might <em>really </em>say, <em>"Without my specs I can't see nothing," </em>but I live in Texas, so don't talk like me.]

(b) SHOW Let me show how this machine runs for us.

(c) MAKE Would you please make a comment on this theme? I am glad to do so.

(d) CREATE Creating a bridge to facilitate these soldiers to pass through  in crossing the river is the most toughest task for the military engineers.
