Summer Day I was thrilled to know that school ends and summer begins because I could have all the free time I wanted throughout the entire summer. Before summer has started, I planned my summer programs to keep myself busy. But once summer has started, everything did not go the way I wanted to be. The summer programs I signed up were canceled due to teachers strike in my area, and even my friends were not in town, leaving me alone for the summer. Since summer programs were canceled, I did something else to make use of time. I went on the internet to search for job and volunteer positions, and I also applied to the ones I was interested in. After several weeks of waiting I finally got various types of volunteer and job interviews, and I got accepted to work at SPCA. It was my first attempt to apply for jobs, which I did not expect to have any offers since I was trying to learn how to apply. Anyhow, I am working at SPCA for summer job now, and I am really happy to receive this job position. Although my plans were canceled, I could still find a way to make use of time instead of coping at home, watching Netflix all day. However, I can't believe how fast time is fleeting because I am now in my last year of high school. Thinking back what I've done in my past summers have taught me to use time wisely because time fleets and it is useless to regret if I did not use time effectively.

Summer Day

I was thrilled to know that school ended and summer had begun because so I could have all the free time I wanted throughout the entire summer. Before summer has started, I had planned my(it's unnecessary) summer programs to keep myself busy. But (<em>However/Nevertheless?)</em> once summer had started, everything did not go the way I wanted it to be go. The summer programs I had signed up for were canceled due to teachers' strike in my area. and even Also, my friends were not in town, leaving so I was left me alone for the summer. Since summer programs were canceled, I did something else to make use of my time. I went on the internet to search and apply for jobs and volunteer positions, and I also applied to the ones that I was interested in. After several weeks of waiting, I finally got various types of volunteer and job interviews, and I got accepted to work at SPCA <em>(maybe you can spell out the entire acronym for those who do not know what SPCA stands for?)</em>. I did not expect to have any offers since it was my first attempt to at applying for jobs which  and I was <em>still </em>trying to learn how to apply for them. Anyhow, I am working at SPCA for summer job now, and(A little repetitive)  I am really happy to receive this job position. Although my plans were canceled, I could still find a way to make use of my time instead of coping (staying?) at home and watching Netflix all day. However, I can't believe how fast time is fleeting because I am now in my last year of high school. Thinking back to what I've done in my past summers, I have taught me learned (sounds more appropriate :)) to use my time wisely because time fleets and it is useless to regret if I did not use time effectively (<em>yes I completely agree with you :D</em>.

<em>I think this is a very well written essay. Please do not feel discouraged by my corrections. Many were simply to make it sound and flow better. I would recommend that you review your past perfect verb tenses. Also, maybe exchange "summer" with season or vacation so it would not be repetitive. Overall, you delivered your story very well and transitioned really well. Great job! :) </em>
