August - The Month of Wind It's August already... I have the feeling that every month passes by in the blink of an eye! This month is usually very windy in my country, so we call it "the month of wind". Because of that, this is also the season of kites. If you go to a park on a weekend, you can see kites of different colors and sizes flying freely in the sky. This is something that I looked forward to when I was a kid, but it's been a long time since I flew one myself. Not too far from this city, there's a place called Villa de Leyva where they have a famous kite festival every year. I've never gone to this festival but it seems interesting since the kites used there are customized with original designs. There's even a event for big kites. I guess you need a lot of practice to fly one of those. It seems difficult! The downside of this windy month is that it gets a little cold and messy hairstyles become the rule, especially for girls with long hair haha (I'm exaggerating, but that can be annoying at times!)
