Jim Carrey's journey from homeless to a superstar

One of the best comedians worldwide, Jim Carrey, had to overcome some obstacles before becoming a superstar. In the beginning, he had a normal middle class upbringing until his father lost his job when Jim was twelve years old. Afterwards, his family lost their apartment, so they moved into their van. Subsequently, Jim had to support his family by working in a factory after school. Also, he had to take care of his mother, who suffered a chronic illness. Eventually, he decided to get a stand-up comedy career with his father's support. During this time, he had bad moments, but he persevered and finally made the big jump to Hollywood. To sum up, Jim Carrey had to go through a lot, including being  homeless to working as a janitor in a factory.

very good. i would just say including because he his career did not stop at being a janitor, which is what <em>from..... to.... </em>implies.  But of course I understood anyway
