Anne of Green Gables NHK(Japan Broadcasting Corporation) has been broadcasting the drama of Hanako Muraoka's lifetime, who first translate "Anne of Green Gables" into Japanese. She worked on the books just in World War II when people are strongly prohibited from using English. Speaking of "Anne of Green Gables", I have never read the books actually, though I only watched the TV animation im my childhood. It is also true about "Heidi, Girl of the Alps" and "A Dog of Flanders".
