First impressions Judging a person’s character quickly based on the first impression that one has about her or him is never a good thing to do. It will always lead to wrong impressions about that person. For this reason, I never judge anyone or draw conclusions about someone I just met. There is a saying in my country that summarizes this topic: “you cannot judge a book by its cover”, in other words it implies that you cannot give an opinion on a book unless you have read it all. It is the same when it comes to expressing an opinion on a person, one is only entitled to express an opinion on his or her character when one has known that person for a long time. For example, one can meet someone for the first time when that person is stressed, angry by something that just happened and might think that that person is not nice at all, without taking into account the fact that it could be an uncommon event. On the contrary, one can meet a person that seems to be happy and nice, but it could just be hypocrisy. It is really difficult to tell whether a person is hypocrite or not based on a fist impression. All in all, I think that judging a person taking only into account the first impression leads to stereotype and even promote racism thoughts. That is why, I think one should not rush to give an opinion on anyone without having spoken to that person for a long time .

First impressions

Judging a person’s character quickly, based on the first impression that one has about her or him the person (based on first impressions), is never a good thing to do. It will always lead to wrong impressions about that person. For this reason, I never judge anyone or draw conclusions about someone I (have) just met. There is a saying in my country that summarizes this topic: “you cannot judge a book by its cover”, in other words it implies that you cannot give an opinion on a book unless you have read it all entirely. It is the same when it comes to expressing an opinion on a person. One is only entitled to express an opinion on his or her character about a person when one has known that person for a long time.
For example, one can meet someone for the first time when that person [which person?] is stressed, angry or angered by something that just happened, and might think [who is doing the thinking?] that that person [?] is not nice at all, without taking into account the fact that it [what? the bad mood or the process of meeting someone for the first time?] could be an uncommon event. On the contrary, one can meet a person that seems to be happy and nice, but it this could just be hypocrisy. It is really difficult to tell whether a person is a hypocrite or not based on a the first impression.
All in all, I think that judging a person while taking only into account only the first impression leads to the development of stereotypes and even promote racism racist thoughts. That (This) is why, I think one should not rush to give an opinion on anyone without first having spoken to that person for a long time .
