السلام عليكم ورحمة الله السلام عليكم ورحمة الله I have translated a small paragraph from a fiqh book called تسهيل الوصول إلى فهم علم الأصول into English. I have purposely translated directly and not made the text sound good in English. My goal here is not to write English but to see if I have understood everything right. So if you have the time to check it and point out if I made any mistakes: فقد كان الناس في صدر الإسلام يعيشون في ظل التشريع, و ما قبض رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حتى أرسى الله بالقرآن قواعد الدين: وفصلت السنة فروعه وأبانت معالمه وفقه الناس دينهم, ثم جاء الخلفاء الراشدون فاقتفى الناس آثارهم و ترسموا خطاهم. There was a time – فقد- when people were living in the midst of Islaam under the legislation, and that which had seized the Messenger of Allaah - may Allaah’s mercy and peace be upon him – until the founding by Allaah with the Quran of rules of the religion: explaining the branches of the sunnah and clarifying – أبانت - its (sunnah) directions – معالمه - and the juriprudence of people - فقه الناس - in their religion, then came the rightly guided califs who made people follow up – فاقتفى (source word: قفا , meaning follow up) on their traditions (the sunnah they had just acquired) and designed their steps (that people should take so they would not make wrong steps in the religion).

My goal here is not to write English but to see if I have understood everything right. So if you have the time to check it and point out if I made any mistakes:
فقد كان الناس في صدر الإسلام يعيشون في ظل التشريع, و ما قبض رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حتى أرسى الله بالقرآن قواعد الدين: وفصلت السنة فروعه وأبانت معالمه وفقه الناس دينهم, ثم جاء الخلفاء الراشدون فاقتفى الناس آثارهم و ترسموا خطاهم.
There was a time – فقد- when people were living in the beginnig of Islaam under the ( islamic ) legislation, and that the Messenger of Allaah - may Allaah’s mercy and peace be upon him – was not died until Allaah established by the Quran the bases of religion: and the sunnah explained it's ( religion ) branches and clarifying – أبانت - its (religion) directions – معالمه - and the people understand - فقه الناس - their religion, then came the rightly guided califs whome the people follow up – فاقتفى (source word: قفا , meaning follow up) on their traditions (califs) and designed their steps (that people should take so they would not make wrong steps in the religion).
