About my homeland (Kurdistan) Kurdistan is located in the middle of meddle east. And because of many political and historical reasons, Kurdish people do not have their independent state yet. Kurdistan has divided in to four parts, and each part is a part of another country. Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Turkey. I live in Iraqi's part, and we have a federal government in this part, in the frame of Iraqi republic. Kurdish people have been fighting for their national rights since the earlier of 20th century. But they couldn't get what they are fighting for yet. We have many revolutions in our history, mostly armed revolutions. But they were all ended in tragic ways. Our last armed revolution which was in the southern part of Kurdistan. the part which I live in, ended in 1988 by the process of (Anfal) the genocide of Kurdish people carried out by the former Iraqi bathist regime. 182 thousands of Kurdish people were killed in this genocide. and more than 4500 villages were destroyed. The Iraqi bathist regime also attacked (Halabja) one of the Kurdish towns, with chemical bomb and more than 5 thousands of people died in few hours. But after Iraqi's intervention in Kuwait and destroying most of Iraqi troops in fighting with American army in that war in 1991. Kurdish people up rose against Iraqi troops, and most of Kurdish cities and towns liberated by kurdish forces in few days.
